On Thursday, June 13, Regents voted to approve the university’s annual budget that includes several key investments in student financial aid and initiatives supporting the university’s new strategic plan.

The Arizona Tri-Universities for Indian Education convened a statewide meeting on June 12, at Northern Arizona University. The organization has been in existence since 2000 with members representing various colleges and universities.

Every quarter community leaders from government, business, education, and non-profit sectors, are invited to learn about an exciting area on campus. The purpose of these breakfasts is to connect UA leaders and community leaders so we can identify new ways for us to work together.

UA Government and Community Relations works closely with neighborhoods surrounding the University of Arizona’s Main Campus in Tucson to assure we are being good neighbors. 

Late last month, members of Governor Ducey’s team visited the Arizona State Museum (ASM) to learn about the Museum’s mission and better understand its relationship with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO).

The Federal appropriations process is in full swing on Capitol Hill. UA Federal Relations has been working with Congress to ensure University of Arizona priorities are well-supported in the FY20 budget.

On Friday, May 24, President Robbins visited the Pascua Yaqui community in southwest Tucson; one of 22 federally recognized Native Nations in Arizona.

On Monday, May 27th at 10:43 pm the Arizona Legislature approved an $11.8 billion state budget for FY20. Over the last several days, the budget was held up over negotiations concerning a change in the statute of limitations for sex abuse victims.
