It is with mixed emotions to announce that our very own Darbi Jenkins is taking on an exciting new role with Governor Doug Ducey. Later this month, Darbi becomes the new Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs for the governor’s office. Although a loss for UA, the state of Arizona gains a thoughtful, hardworking and effective advocate.

Since starting with UA in 2017, Darbi has been an essential part of our team and key to several legislative victories. She helped secure legislative approval to complete $160 million in new capital projects, including renovations to five UA athletics facilities and the construction of the Student Success District. This session, Darbi helped secure the largest state funding appropriation to UA since 2009. She ran our Legislative Internship Program, which provides UA students internships at every branch of state government, and she served as point person for UA’s presence at one of Arizona’s largest government conferences.

And as if a new career path isn’t enough for one person, Darbi marries her college sweetheart Marshall in October. Darbi is an Arizona native, a Future Farmer of America alumni, and although she received her degree from NAU, she will always be our Wildcat for life.
