Community Outreach

Community Relations provides support to the community through three campus-wide charitable programs:

  • UA Cares is The University of Arizona’s annual workplace giving campaign, offering University employees the opportunity to donate to any University programs through the UA Foundation, and to any non-profit agencies through the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona. ( )
  • UA4Food brings together the University family including faculty, staff, students, and local merchants to raise food and monetary donations supporting the Community Food Bank’s Child Hunger & Nutrition Programs. (
  • Cats in the Community Day is the University of Arizona’s signature volunteer event including faculty, staff, students, and local merchants. Every year the University selects a different non-profit organization to receive an “extreme makeover” including maintenance, repair, and artistic enhancements. A cross-campus planning team leads this project, with many units and areas of campus joining in the effort. The University’s advanced level graphic design students create and implement the artistic concepts for the project. (
